If you are asking for directions, it would be easier if you mentioned Freedom Lodge because that is the former name before it was taken over by new management and rebranded. It’s this intimate little place that’s perfect for relaxing before or after hitting the wild. Tucked away in lush gardens with Mount Meru watching over it, the lodge gives off a real sense of peace. Situated a little further away from the city noise and activities, this lodge, situated in the vicinity of the town, is a quieter property. With just a handful of rooms, a pool to chill by, and spots to grab a drink or meal, it’s like a home base for explorers. Location

The lodge sits in Sakina village, right outside Arusha’s city centre. It’s super convenient – only about 30 minutes from Arusha airport. Getting there takes you through the scenic Ngateu Hills, which feel tranquil and full of local culture. You’ve got stunning backdrops of Mount Meru, and from the balconies, you can see all the way from the city hustle to quiet countryside spots. It’s away from the noise but close enough to jump into town if you want.

Accommodation

They’ve got a few room options to fit different groups. The Luxury Rooms are in two-story rondavels – think spacious setups with a king-size bed, plus a single if needed. Each has its own bathroom with a shower, basin, and toilet, a sitting area, a dressing table, coffee/tea stuff, charging points, a safe, good bedding, and mosquito nets. They’re about 31 square meters, and there are 8 of them for up to 3 guests. Then there are the Standard Rooms, which are cosy and compact at 24 square meters. They come with a king or two singles, bathroom basics, a bedside table, a luggage rack, and big windows for light. Same amenities like coffee/tea, charging, safe, nets – 8 available for 2 guests. For families, there’s one Standard Family Room at 70 square meters. It’s open-plan with a king bed and two bunk beds for up to 6 people. Includes a sitting area, all the usual bathroom and amenity perks, and it’s right by the pool for easy fun.
