You can climb Mount Kilimanjaro in one day, did you know that? Not really all the way to the summit, just a segment of it. If you’re not sure if you’re ready for the whole Kilimanjaro experience, consider one of our shorter Kilimanjaro treks through the Marangu route. Only one or two days on the mountain will provide you with a comprehensive understanding of what it takes to participate in a Kilimanjaro trekking expedition.
This experience is ideal if you’re traveling with young children who aren’t quite ready for a full hike yet, or if your vacation is cut short but you still want to enjoy yourself.
These hikes will take you to Kilimanjaro’s lower camps, where you will be immersed in an unspoiled tropical forest and surrounded by stunning scenery.
Marangu, the original Kilimanjaro trail, is home to black-and-white colobus monkeys that live in the branches of the tropical trees that grow along the trail.
You can hike up to Mandara Hut and back to the entry gate in one day. A two-day tour including an overnight stay at Mandara Hut and a climb to Horombo Hut Camp or Maundi Crater offers a more immersive experience. Overall, it’s a brief yet intriguing excursion that combines nature and local culture.
How much does a Kilimanjaro day hike cost?
Our Marangu Day-Hikes are far less expensive than our complete climbing trips, allowing you to have a taste of Kilimanjaro at a low cost. Park fees, English-speaking guides and crew, lunches and refreshments, Kilimanjaro National Park fees, group equipment, and other necessary goods are all included in the costs. The package does not include personal hiking equipment (such as clothing and a sleeping bag). You can either bring your own equipment or rent it from us on the spot.
