All our tours to mount Kilimanjaro climbs include airport transfers. We pick you up at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) or any other airport near Arusha and Kilimanjaro as per your itinerary plan and take you to your pre-climb hotel in Moshi or Arusha, then back again at the end of your itinerary. In short, we take care of your air transfers and accommodation, before and after your Mount Kilimanjaro climb.

NB: All transfers and accommodation will be planned before the start of your tour to Mount Kilimanjaro. If you choose to book a transfer with Tranquil Kilimanjaro, you will be met by our guides at Kilimanjaro Airport Arrivals.  Our team will be holding a sign bearing your names and the Tranquil Journeys name/logo to avoid any confusion at the airport on your first day to arrive in Tanzania.

Normally the drive from the airport at KIA to Moshi takes around an hour and 40 minutes depending on the location of your accommodation in Moshi. The distance from Kilimanjaro International Airport  to Moshi town is around 67 km (42 miles)

A drive from KIA airport to Arusha town is approximately an hour. The distance from KIA to Arusha is approximately 51.7 km (32 miles)

Arriving at your Hotel/Lodge from the Airport

When you arrive at your hotel/lodge in Moshi or Arusha, we can arrange an agreed time with your guide or tranquil Journeys representative for a briefing, before your Kilimanjaro climb.

At the briefing, we’ll revisit and discuss your climbing itinerary with you and make sure you have all the right mountain climbing gear.

This will also be the perfect time to answer all your questions and concerns.

Your Return Airport  Transfers

After your Mount Kilimanjaro climbing tour, we will make arrangements to drop you off at the Kilimanjaro International Airport, Arusha Airport or any arranged Airport as per your itinerary and arrangements with the Tranquil Journeys team.

International Flights

The recommended time for International flights is to arrive 3 hours before your flight departure. Delays and inconveniences may occur but arriving in time to catch your flight is your responsibility

Make sure you arrange for an appropriate time for the transfer. Enough time to get you to the airport, early enough to enable you to check-in smoothly.
