Here is a one-day Moshi Bike tour and there’s a reason why our guided Moshi Bike Tour is so popular. It’s 20 kilometers long, so it’s an adventure, but it’s hardly the Tour de France. It’s also the greatest way to see the real Moshi. This intriguing trip takes you via woodland trails and through little farming lanes, from the colorful, lively Moshi town roadways to neighboring beautiful villages. Through the first-hand experience of the town and agricultural life, as well as it’s colonial past, you’ll receive a genuine taste of this little typically Tanzanian village nestled in the lush and fruitful slopes of Kilimanjaro. You’ll also enjoy a cheeky drink!

Full-Day Cycling Tour in Moshi Town

Our one-day Moshi bike tour will begin from the city center. Transfers from your hotel or resort are available. We’ll then ride through the bustling city streets and industrial zone. The ride will next take us out of the city and through tranquil sugar cane farms, including one of Tanzania’s oldest and largest sugar estates at TPC. You will learn a little about sugar cane processing while seeing the company’s sugar cane products. The route will next lead us down the river to a historic bridge that was built to connect communities and corporate land—with a little bravery, you will cross the bridge to the other side and experience local life and culture.

After that, we’ll head further into nature by visiting a wildlife conservation area, where you may observe a variety of birds and monkeys if you’re patient and lucky. Lunch will be served in a nearby restaurant with a large garden, which is ideal for a quiet stop.
From there, we’ll head back through new routes, taking in the sunset behind Mount Meru and a spectacular view of Kilimanjaro. A vehicle journey home is optional; however, for those who are exhausted, transportation will be arranged.

You’ll spend the first part of the day getting to know your bike, getting it set up and familiarizing yourself with the controls. Don’t worry, your helpful guide will assist you with everything. Of course, you’ll receive full guidance and coaching on how to navigate Tanzanian roads so that you may ride with confidence and safety.

Cycling at a moderate speed to the Majengo neighborhood of Moshi, which is the hub of Moshi craft, you’ll delve straight into the bustling everyday life of Moshi. Take a look at the bewildering assortment of local crafts and hand-made products that have been artfully displayed along the highway.

From here, you’ll ride through the Msaranga area’s tiny farms and family homes, taking in the everyday activity of schools, mosques, and churches as you go.

The rest of your tour takes you past rice-growing fields, one of Tanzania’s primary crops, where you may assist local field workers. You’ll quickly realize how much effort goes into producing a sack of rice! Enjoy the fruits of your (although brief) labor with a delicious meal prepared by a welcoming local family. While relaxing on your host family’s shaded verandah, you’ll have pilau, a typical Tanzanian rice-based dinner.

It’s time to resume your bike ride through the Rau Forest, a treasure of protected tropical woods rich with birdsong and animal cries, once you’ve rested and refueled. Keep a look out for colobus monkeys with black and white faces staring attentively at you as you pass by. You’re not the first person to question how fluffy a monkey tail can get.

The ancient railway station is your last destination after passing through the Rau Forest’s leafy cover. Close your eyes and you can still feel the intensity and bustle reverberating down the century, as if you’ve gone back a hundred years to German colonial days.

Without a doubt, you’ll be able to see Kilimanjaro while enjoying a cool beer from the train station bar, a beautiful final stop before your journey back into town, where you can finally rest your tired but joyful legs.
