While there is no food available on-site, climbers can bring their own supplies and make use of the cold water taps provided.
Alternatively, visitors can opt to set up their tents at the campsite, enjoying a night under the stars amidst the serene surroundings of Mount Kenya. Advance booking is required, and park fees apply for all visitors.

It is accessible by road and is the location of a meteorological station. The privately owned cabins are dormitory-style wooden houses with bunk beds, toilets, and external latrines. Climbers can sleep in their tents or climb the mountain. The camp is open to both climbers and those seeking a night out in the wild without trekking. To reach the Met Station, hike from the Naro Moru Gate, which takes about 5 hours. The trail leads to the Met Station Lodge, which accommodates about 30 guests and has several latrines. Book the Met Station before climbing Mt. Kenya to ensure a comfortable stay and avoid excessive pollution.
