Day 1: Arrival in Nairobi, transfer to Best Western Meridian hotel.

Day 2: Nairobi to Meteorological Station, Mount Kenya trek begins.

Day 3: Trek to Shipton Camp in Mackinder’s Valley.

Day 4: Summit Day, reach Pt. Lenana and descend to Mackinders Camp.

Day 5: Trek to Met Station Bandas.

Day 6: Trek to Met Station, drive to Lake Nakuru, overnight at Jarika County Lodge.

Day 7: Full-day game drives at Lake Nakuru National Park.

Day 8: Drive to Masai Mara National Reserve, game drives at Enkorok Mara Camp.

Day 9: Full-day game drives at Masai Mara, option for hot air balloon safari.

Day1

Arrival in Nairobi, Kenya

Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta Airport in Nairobi, you will be warmly greeted and assisted by our team. We will transfer you to the comfortable Best Western Meridian Hotel for an overnight stay, preparing you for the exciting Mount Kenya trek and safari adventure that lies ahead.

Day 2

Nairobi to Meteorological Station (3-4 Hrs, 10km, 400m Ascent)

An early start from Best Western Meridian Hotel at 6 am takes you on a road journey to Nanyuki. Enjoy a delicious lunch at Ibis Hotel before proceeding to the Sirimon Park Gate, where your Mountain trek officially begins. The afternoon trek is designed for acclimatization, and you will spend the night at Old Moses (3300m) in high-altitude mountain cabins. Today’s trek will involve approximately 5 hours of walking.

Day 3

Shipton Camp (8 hrs)

Start your day early at 7 am. This challenging day will require approximately 8 hours of leisurely walking, testing your patience, endurance, and determination. Ascend the Sirimon Track to Likii North Valley, a picturesque little valley below the subsidiary peaks of Teleki and Sendeyo. Climb out of the North Valley into the vast Mackinders Valley, adorned with giant groundsels. Camp at Shimptons Cabins in the Mackinder’s Valley, just below the main peaks of Batian and Nelion (4,300m).

Day 4

Mackinders Camp

Begin your day at 2 am for an Alpine ascent to the highest peak, Pt. Lenana (4985m) via the less-traveled north face. The journey involves four hours of stiff walking to the summit, a true test of determination. After a memorable sunrise at the peak, start descending to Austrian Hut for breakfast, and later proceed to Mackinders Camp for an overnight stay.

Day 5

Met Station Bandas

After breakfast, embark on a trek to Met Station Bandas through the scenic Teleki Valley. You will have lunch on the way, and the trekking time will be approximately 8 hours.

Day 6

Met Station to Lake Nakuru

After breakfast, leave Met Station Bandas and trek towards the park, where your tour guide will meet you. Drive to Nakuru and arrive in the late afternoon. Enjoy dinner and spend the night at Jarika County Lodge or a similar accommodation.

Day 7

Lake Nakuru National Park - Full Day Game Drives

Start your day with an early breakfast and proceed for a full day of game drives at Lake Nakuru National Park, accompanied by packed lunches. The park is renowned for endangered species, including the Rothschild Giraffe and the black and white rhino. Lions, waterbuck, buffalo, and baboons are also common residents here.

Day 8

Lake Nakuru to Masai Mara National Reserve

Depart the camp after breakfast and drive via the scenic floor of the Great Rift Valley to Masai Mara National Reserve. Enjoy lunch at a campsite before embarking on evening game drives. Spend the night at Enkorok Mara Camp.

Day 9

Masai Mara National Reserve

pend the entire day exploring the park in search of the big 5 and other wildlife. Morning and afternoon game drives are offered, with the option of an exciting hot air balloon safari at an additional cost. Return to Enkorok Mara Camp for dinner and another overnight stay.

Day 10

Masai Mara to Nairobi

Enjoy a morning game drive followed by breakfast at the camp. Afterward, return to Nairobi and savor dinner at the famous Carnivore Restaurant before transferring to the airport for your journey back home. This marks the end of your exhilarating Mount Kenya trek and safari adventure.
