If you have 5 days to spend on a safari in Tanzania, then this five-day safari is all you need, as five days is all it takes to fall completely in love with Tanzania, and this compact, perfectly-paced safari proves it. You’ll land in Arusha, wake up the next morning, and within hours be standing among hundreds of elephants under ancient baobab trees in Tarangire. The following day, you’ll drop into the magical Ngorongoro Crater (one of the most wildlife-packed places on the planet) before driving straight into the endless golden plains of the Serengeti, where lions nap under acacia trees and the horizon feels like it belongs to another world. You’ll spend a full, unhurried day in the Serengeti hunting for cheetahs at dawn and watching hippos yawn at sunset. On your last morning, you’ll look for the famous tree-climbing lions of Lake Manyara and enjoy one final picnic lunch surrounded by monkeys and flamingos before heading back to Arusha in the afternoon. It’s short enough to fit into a week off work, yet long enough to give you the four most iconic northern parks: Tarangire, Ngorongoro Crater, Serengeti, and Lake Manyara. No long, boring transfer days, no filler, no early-morning flights home feeling exhausted. Just five straight days of pure wonder, great food, comfortable beds, and the kind of wildlife moments people talk about for the rest of their lives. If you only have a few days and want the real Tanzania (the one you’ve seen in documentaries and dreamed about since you were a kid), this is it. Short, sweet, and absolutely unforgettable.
With us, your safari is 100% private – no sharing the jeep with strangers. You get your own 4×4 Land Cruiser just for your group. You decide every day what time you leave the lodge and when you come back. Want to be out at dawn when the lions are hunting, and the light is beautiful? Cool. Prefer a shorter morning drive and then chill by the pool in the afternoon? Also totally fine. Our guides have years of experience and will give you honest advice on the spot, but in the end, you choose. The animals don’t follow a clock, so no matter what time you’re out, there’s always something exciting to see.
Simple: we build the whole trip around you. You tell us what you love, what you don’t, your budget, how many days you have – everything. We keep tweaking the plan until it feels perfect for you. Nothing is off the shelf unless you want it to be. We do have a few ready-made itineraries that most people love (they’re on our website), but even those can be changed however you like. Basically, your trip, your rules – we just make it happen.
Why stop at lions when you can stand on the roof of Africa? You can tack a Kilimanjaro climb onto your safari—either before or after. Most people do the safari first (so they’re already in the country and nicely acclimatised), then head straight to the mountain. In just 6–9 extra days you’ll walk through rainforest, heather zones and alpine desert all the way to Uhuru Peak at 5,895 m. Watching sunrise from the summit, with the Serengeti plains tiny below you, is a feeling few experiences on Earth can match. It’s the perfect way to turn a great wildlife trip into a true once-in-a-lifetime adventure. See this 12 Days Kilimanjaro and safari combo (6 days Marangu Route trek plus 5 days wildlife safari).
After five days of dusty game drives, nothing feels better than barefoot-on-white-sand relaxation. When the safari ends, hop on a quick 1-hour flight to Zanzibar. Spend your days swimming in warm turquoise water, snorkelling over colourful reefs, eating fresh seafood under palm trees, and wandering the narrow streets of Stone Town. Four or five nights is usually perfect—long enough to unwind completely and short enough that you don’t get bored. Safari + Zanzibar is the classic Tanzania combo for a reason: wild mornings with lions, lazy afternoons with coconuts.
Any of these windows works brilliantly for a short 5-day trip. Just tell us what you most want to see—big cat hunts, baby animals, or quiet parks with no one else around—and we’ll pick the perfect month for you.
