Your local operator for the Mount Meru climb recommends tipping the following amounts per day:

  • $30 per guide
  • $20-25 per cook
  • $10-15 per porter

N.B: This amount applies to the whole group of climbers, not to each climber. However, you don’t need to worry about allocating tips to each staff member. Your tour operator will handle the tip allocation for you, ensuring fair treatment of all crew members while making it easier for you.

How many guides and porters will be on my crew?
