Mawenzi Ridge is located about 4500 meters above sea level on Mount Kilimanjaro overlooking the Mawenzi Tarn Camp.

Mawenzi Ridge and Acclimatization

The Mawenzi Ridge plays a very integral part in Mount Kilimanjaro. It is an important place on the Mountain that is used on the extra acclimatization day on a few Mount Kilimanjaro routes and itineraries.

The Ridge is usually used for acclimatization, to be specific this place is usually an acclimatization point for the 7 Days Rongai Route itinerary, usually the fourth day and the popular 6 Days Marangu Route itinerary, usually on the third day.

The beautiful landscape of the Mawenzi Ridge also rewards climbers with amazing views of Kibo and Mawenzi peaks, two of the three peaks of Mount Kilimanjaro.
